about
"E Vamos Lá", a composition by João Donato and Joyce is the 2nd track of the album "Everyday a Little Love", played by Petar Ćulibrk .
- When I heard this song for the first time, I felt like I was being transported to a hidden cocoon of happiness! The melody is simultaneously simple and sophisticated as in many of Donato’s songs. The naïve lyrics describe someone who is setting a loving home for two, with view over the sea by a road packed with little birds, waiting for the arrival of spring telling us that after all, it was worth the wait… This unpretentious simplicity made me smile when I needed…!-says Amalia.
Joyce, who shares this composition with João Donato, is one of the most respected musicians in the history of Brazilian popular music. Singer, guitarist, composer, she recorded her debut album in 1968 and has since issued more than 20 albums and composed about 400 songs. Jobim, with whom she played and sang on various occasions at a young age, considered Joyce to be one of the greatest singers of all times… Joyce and João Donato have composed numerous songs in partnership throughout their extensive careers.
João Donato is a musician and composer, one of the surviving and still active members of the generation that produced Antonio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto, and many other masters associated with the birth of bossa nova (more about Donato in the next posts!)
lyrics
